Vaccines for ovarian cancer seem far off.

Therapeutic Vaccines for Ovarian Cancer: Is Clinical Reality Close? Study Reference: Systematic Review / Clinical Trial Analysis   The prospect of therapeutic vaccine therapy for ovarian cancer has generated interest for decades; such vaccines function by mobilising a targeted immune response against specific tumour antigens. While platforms using DNA, mRNA, peptides, and dendritic cells have streamlined vaccine manufacturing, clinical progress remains largely exploratory. A comprehensive review of 136 registered trials shows that over 90% remain in early Phase I or II, and no therapeutic vaccine has yet demonstrated clinical efficacy in Phase III trials. Consequently, current clinical development is shifting toward combination strategies (such as targeted antibody-drug conjugates) to overcome immune suppression.
